The Piperata collection consists of 27 paintings, three wooden chests and one wooden chest of drawers. Of course, the most valuable part of the collection is made up of paintings belonging to various Italian, French and Dutch schools of the 17^th and 18^th century. Athough experts have been familiar with the collection for a longer period of time, a comprehensive expert and scientific analysis, as well as solutions to a number of problems of attribution and more precise dating, are still to follow. We believe that permanent availability of the works will prompt Croatian and Italian experts to deal with these problems more seriously. However, the preliminary work that has already been done has resulted in a number of conclusions that are expected to be confirmed by further research.
