The regulations on the local flags in Croatia require that a flag of a city or community be of a field of one colour with the coat of arms in the middle or offset towards hoist. Most of the communities follow this rule.
In 1997 are the communities of Donja Motičina, Magadenovac and Vladislavci are formed, while Đurđenovac, Feričanci and Podgorac were included from Požega and Slavonia County. Several communities underwent minor spelling changes of their name at the same time. In 1998 communities of Jagodnjak i Šodolovci are formed, and in 2003 Novi Čeminac, that was added to community of Čeminac in 2006.
Legal notice: The counties, cities and communities in the Republic of Croatia by their decision on adoption and use of the coats of arms and flags limit the use of these symbols only after obtaining an explicit written permission. However, most of the units of local government and self-government by the same decisions explicitly allow the free use of the symbols in the educational and scientific purposes and in the artistic creation, under condition that such use does not offend the dignity and honour of the local unit. The author of these pages considers that the depiction of the coats of arms and the flags here meets the conditions of free use in that sense.

The coat of arms of Trnava used since 1995 was not approved by the Central state office for administration, so it was replaced in 2007. The coat of arms was in a red shield with a green double mount, forming with the pointing end of the shield in the base a green heart shape. From the heart is issuing a white cross from which is issuing a semi-sun with eight rays. In the base of the green part are: a red bunch of grapes in the centre, two yellow wheat ears in dexter and an golden oak leaf with three acorns in sinister. The flag that accompanied this coat of arms was a bicolour of yellow over green with the coat of arms in the centre.
