The FAME is a site devoted to the systematic and scientific study of flags and coats of arms. Such symbols often bear strong political and other messages. Inclusion of those symbols here does not mean that the author supports or approves of the ideas they may stand for. |

The coat of arms is divided per pale in green with a stork and light blue with down-pointing sword, all bordered by a golden outline and crowned with a crown consisting of seven towers. The crown is derived from a similar crown of the capital Sisak. Stork is native in the region, and there is a nature reserve famous for storks along Sava River in the County. The sword is symbol determination of the people to defend themselves, but it is down-pointed as a sign of readiness to peace. The flag is blue with thin red and white stripes along upper edge (both in vertical and horizontal version), and with the coat of arms in the middle.
Neither coat of arms nor the flag were approved by the Ministry of Administration. The remarks of the Ministry are the crown, which they find unsuitable as symbol of suzerainty which the County lacks (being administrative unit only). The flag is not according to the regulations that require the county flags to be of two colours only. However, even without the approval both the coat of arms and the flag are in extensive use in the County. The 2001 Statute only determine existance of the symbols which are determined with a special decision in accordince with the law.
