M. Knapiński - FEM 3D Analysis of Roll Deflection During Plate Rolling A numerical simulation of roll deflection during hot rolling is presented in the paper. The real conditions of the Plate Rolling Mill of the Częstochowa Steelworks were taken for the simulation. The effect of rolled strip width on the deformation of the working and backing-up rolls was analysed. The investigation carried out has enabled the determination of roll shape during the rolling process. pdf -165 kB |

of Titanium Compounds in the Process of Sintering Titanium-Magnetite
Concentrates
The article presents the methods of identifying the behavior of titanium compounds in the process of sintering mixes containing titanium-magnetite concentrate of a basicity of 0,1 (without a limestone addition) and a basicity of 1,0 (with limestone added). pdf - 82 kB P. Fila, L. Martínek, M. Balcar, J. Bažan, Z. Adolf - Evaluation of Super Clean Steels According to Chemical Composition Realization
of products in power engineering represents the verification and
optimization of steel making technology of 2,8NiCrMoV and 3,5NiCrMoV
types intended for forgings of the gas turbine shaft and compressor
disk. The minimum content of tramp and trace elements is requested,
especially phosphorus, sulphur, copper, antimony, arsenic and tin.
Silicon, manganese and aluminium are considered as undesirable elements.

of Determination of the Location of the Logistic Steelworks Product
Distribution Center
One
of the modern methods of distribution management is distribution
center. A combination of ABC analysis, discriminatory analysis and
customer classification are a basis in this article for the determination
of a strategic group of customers and location of a logistic distribution
center for a steelworks. pdf
- 251 kB The composition of gaseous combustion product leaving the chamber of aluminium melting furnace in TLM Šibenik was investigated by measurements and numerical analysis in order to reduce the fuel consumption and increase the capacity of the existing furnace. Investigations were motivated by the fact that the actual specific fuel consumption was considerably higher and the actual furnace production was considerably lower than the design values according to the furnace technical documentation and the previous reached values in practice. pdf - 126 kB I. Mamuzić, M. Longauerova, A. Štrkalj - The Analysis of Defects on Continuous Cast Billets First the article presents the system of sampling and methods of correction of defects on continuous cast billets and rolled steel concrete bars. Although the chemical composition of these billets (with increased contents of manganese and oxygen) is adequate to the standard chemical composition (DIN 488 - BSt 500S) there are gas blow holes and cracks as well as central and peripheral segregation. The point is in unsatisfactory deoxidation of hot cracks which develop during solidification. A prove that the hot cracks are decarbonisation in cracks are inclusions of Si, MnS, Fe, S, respectively an increased content of accompanying elements. The hardness value indicates that the rolling process develops regularly, i.e. in the area of recrystallization of metal. pdf - 429 kB |

Toughness of Friction Stir Welded Joints of AlCu4SiMg
Aluminium Alloy
The
objective of paper was to determine the fracture toughness of friction
stir welding (FSW) joints of EN AW-2014 AlCu4SiMg)
aluminium alloy, and to compare the fracture toughness of FSW with
that of conventional metal inert gas (MIG) process. FSW of aluminium
alloy was performed on a conventional semiautomatic milling machine.
Defect free FSW welds were produced on alloy plates at constant tool
rotation and traverse speed of 1600 rpm and 200 mm/min, respectively.
The results of Vickers hardness and Charpy impact tests were used to
evaluate the fracture toughness of welded joints. Low heat input, absence
of melting and filler metal resulted in better fracture toughness for
FSW joints. pdf

theoretical analysis of concast slab rolling on the breakdown stand
of a double-stand plate rolling mill has been carried out in the study.
The theoretical analysis has made it possible to determine the effect
of the angle of strip feeding to the rolls on the distribution of stresses
within the roll gap during strip rolling. The theoretical analysis
of the rolling process was performed by using the commercial software
package Forge 2 developed at Ecole des Mines in Paris. This package
operates based on FEM and uses a flat, rigid-plastic model of the deformed
medium. The theoretical analysis was conducted based on the conditions
of plate rolling on roughing mill 3600 of the double-stand plate rolling
mill at the Częstochowa Steelworks. pdf
- 195 k Solutions
of differential equations for smooth surfaces and transversal strip
roughness with inertial lubrication forces were analyzed. Ten factors
impacting the height of lubrication film at material input deformation
zone were systemized through: rheologic lubrication properties, kinematics
of technological processes and geometric characteristics of rolling
processes. Linear optimization is based on the process of cloning,
where two methods are proposed (rotary and step-like) and it contains
three variants of adjustment of technological factors. The cloning
process disposes of a possibility of the control of differential equations.
The cloning is carried out with the Osnup tool that proposes a static
and a dynamic method of transmission of similarity criterion over a
singular point. pdf

Analysis of Effect of Die Angle on Strain and Stress State in
Process of Drawing of Steel for Prestressed Concrete
In the paper the results of a computer simulation of the drawing process of steel wires for a prestressed concrete have been presented with FEM software (Forge 2). Dies with a different die angle 2a = 8°, 12° and 18° were used in the drawing process of a DB92 steel wire rod with 5,5 mm in diameter (according to Polish Standards) in five passes for final wires with 2,5 mm in diameter. After every pass mechanical properties and draw stresses were determined. pdf - 263 k |
