Vilko Ziljak is a full professor with permanent title in the field of graphic technology. He is a Vice-President of the Croatian Technical Sciences Academy. In 2008 he was awarded the life achievement award: Zlatna kuna (Gold Marten). The award was handed over by Luka Bebić, President of Croatian Parliament. The award is given by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and this year it was to professor Ziljak
Vilko Ziljak has a very fruitful cooperation in the field of business and with state institutions on which he has based his research and development achievements. He introduced new digitalization methods into the graphic industry in all segments: prepress, press and postpress. Software was introduced in printing plants for production managing and planning that he had developed with his closest collaborators. Significant projects are the following ones: digitalization of the state topographic maps, documents and securities graphics, design of Croatia's original money - the Kuna.
He was born in Sveti Ivan Zelina in 1946. He got his doctor's degree in 1981 with the College of Electrical Engineering and acquired the title : doctor of technical sciences in the field of computer sciences. Vilko Ziljak is Head of the Department for tipography and computer graphic with the Faculty of Graphics Arts. With six postgraduate and many pre-graduate studies he has introduced subjects linked with modeling and simulation, graphics technology, informatics and visual research with the help of computers. Twenty two scientists have received their master's or doctor's degrees with various colleges under his tutorship. In his biography (www.ziljak.hr) there is a list of more than 400 titles: books, scientific and expert works, cooperation in the field of economics, educational films, projects with MZOS.
BIOGRAFIJA
Vilko Žiljak rođen je u Svetom Ivanu Zelini 18. prosinca 1946. g. Od 1959. godine živi u Zagrebu i tu je proveo cijelo školovanje. Nakon gimnazije, studira na Prirodoslovno matematičkom fakultetu gdje je 1973. stekao naslov "diplomirani inženjer eksperimentalne fizike". Doktorirao je 1981. g. na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu i stekao naslov "doktor tehnčkih znanosti iz podru ja računalnih znanosti". V. Žiljak je u stalnom radnom odnosu od 1970. godine. Zaposlen je na Grafičkom fakultetu od 1982. g. gdje je profesor i voditelj katedre za tiskarski slog i računarsku tehniku. Profesor je na posljediplomskim studijima: fakultet elektrotehnike i računarstva, Fakultet organizacije i indormatike Varaždin, Medicinski, Građevinski, Grafički i Ekonomski fakultet. Na dodiplomskim: Studiju dizajna pri Arhitektonskom fakultetu te Studij Informatike na zagrebačkom veleučilištu.
Izabran je 1982. g. u znanstveno nastavno zvanje znanstveni suradnik i docent za grupu predmeta: računarska tehnika i simulacijski jezici iz područja računarskih znanosti na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Zagrebu. U višeg znanstvenog suradnika (1986. g.) izvanrednog profesora za grupu predmeta tiskarski slog i računala izabran je 1987. U znanstvenog savjetnika i redovitog profesora za predmete slog i računarska grafika izabran je 1999. U redovitog profesora u trajnom zvanju izabran je 2004. godine. Dopredsjednik je Akademije tehničkih znanosti hrvatske. Od 1983. do 1987. bio je dekan Više grafičke škole.
